The difference between bearings with and without oil seals

Time:2019-01-22
Bearing oil seal: is the seal of the bearing, mainly used to prevent oil leakage, but also to prevent foreign bodies (such as water) into the bearing function, to a certain extent can be said to be dust cap. Generally speaking, it is customary to call the seal that plays the role of sealing oil as oil seal, and the seal that plays the role of sealing water as water seal. In fact, it is a two-way seal.
Bearing oil seals have RS, 2RS and ZZ sealing forms. RS indicates that the seal of bearing is the structure of sealing ring, which belongs to contact seal. It is based on elastic deformation of rubber to complete the fastening in the bearing, and the seal ring is used to prevent oil leakage in the bearing and foreign body entry. RS means one-sided seal and 2RS means double-sided seal. ZZ indicates that the seal of bearing is double-sided seal with dust-proof cover. The material of the seal cover is steel plate. The dust-proof cover is stamped by abrasive tools and is pressed into the bearing with abrasive tools. Bearings sealed with dust-proof cover belong to non-contact seal.
