The greater the Angle of rotation of the plunger at the non-oil supply level, the greater the distance from the top end face of the plunger to the hypotenuse of the oil return hole of the open plunger bushing, and the greater the oil supply. If the Angle of rotation of the plunger is small, the oil break starts earlier and the oil supply is small.
When the diesel engine stops, it needs to cut off the oil. At this time, the longitudinal groove on the plunger plug can be turned to face the oil return hole on the plunger sleeve. At this point, in the entire plunger travel, the fuel inside the plunger sleeve has been through the longitudinal slot, oil return hole flow back to the oil channel, there is no oil pressure process, so the fuel supply of the injection pump is equal to zero.
It can be seen that in the process of using the injection pump, with the change of the plunger rotation direction, the oil supply can be adjusted by changing the end point of the oil supply. This method is called the oil supply end point adjustment method. Other adjustments can be made by changing the position of the hypotenuse on the plunger. In addition to the oil supply terminal regulation method, the oil supply starting point regulation method and the method of simultaneously changing the oil supply starting point and the oil supply terminal point can also be adopted.
The last method can be used for the Marine diesel engine with high supercharging speed and load changes. It mainly meets the requirement of reducing the fuel injection amount of the fuel injection pump through proper rear starting point and advanced ending point, so it can control the whole combustion process, no matter in low or high load, it is carried out near the top dead point.
